The The Verbal Behavior Center for Autism (VBCA) is a not-for-profit
treatment center that provides therapeutic services to children and families
impacted by autism. The VBCA was founded in 2003 by a grassroots movement
of parents of children with autism who saw only very limited options to
treat their children. Currently, the VBCA operates under the supervision
of Dr. Carl Sundberg and several board certified consultant (BCABA), full-time
therapists, and a speech therapist/consultant. It accommodates patients
on a full day and half day schedule. The center holds a variety of annual
fundraisers to help subsidize ongoing staff education, outreach efforts
and scholarships. All fundraising proceeds benefit children with autism.
The VBCA seeks to become the leading Midwest center providing
research-based treatment to enable children with autism the ability
to realize their fullest potential and become effective contributors to
society. Additionally, its goal is to become a resource for families with
children with autism and help influence society to provide more
effective public services for children with autism.
